AAS-National Endowment for the Humanities Long-Term, Post-Doctoral Fellowships

The American Antiquarian Society offers long-term visiting academic research fellowships tenable for four to twelve months each year. All awards are for a period of residence to use the AAS library's unparalleled resources on pre-1900 American history and culture. Residencies are to be used for research and writing. Up to six fellowships will be awarded for periods extending from four to twelve months. NEH fellowships are for persons who have completed the Ph.D. prior to the application deadline of January 15. Foreign nationals who have been residents in the United States for at least three years immediately preceding the application deadline for the fellowship are eligible. Scholars working on Indigenous and African American topics are encouraged to apply.
