Job Description: The Department of History seeks a full-time, one-year, Visiting Lecturer in premodern European History (from Classical Greece through the 17th Century), with possible specializations in Classical Antiquity, the Middle Ages, or the early modern period, and/or Women’s History, to start in the fall of 2021. The successful applicant will be able to teach HIS-1105: “Formation of Western Society” as well as other courses in European and classical civilizations prior to the Age of Enlightenment.
Duties: Teach a 4-4 load in premodern history including at least one section of HIS 1105 Formation of Western Society, along with courses in the successful candidate’s area of specialization.
Requirements: PhD (or ABD) in History, teaching experience preferred.
