The Department of History at Hampden-Sydney College invites applications for a two-year visiting position (with possible renewal for a third year) in East Asian history. Subfields and specialties are open, though candidates with an interest in the premodern history of China, Japan, or Korea are particularly encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities include a two-semester sequence in East Asian history and upper-division classes in the candidate’s specialty. The successful candidate would also be expected to participate in the college’s Global Cultures program.
