Pacific University, Oregon, invites applications for a full-time, one-year (with possibility of renewal) Visiting Assistant Professor position in Modern Japanese history beginning in the Fall of 2020. The teaching load is 6 courses per year. Fall classes include First Year Seminar, 100-level East Asian Civilization, and 200-level Modern Japan. Spring courses are flexible. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in history. Pacific University is a teaching-oriented, private, liberal arts college, located 25 miles west of Portland, Oregon. It is a designated Asian Pacific Islander serving institution. Pacific University is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
