Position involves:
Research and publication based on the collections and the interests of the curator, stewarding the collections in several historic areas related to the history of technology, creating exhibitions as part of a team, and contributing to public programming and Smithsonian-wide initiatives.
Specializations may include but are not limited to the built environment and industrial design, energy production, forestry, or agriculture. Experience working with material culture and in museums is a plus. A Ph.D. in History, American Studies, or Science and Technology Studies is preferred. This is an entry-level position equivalent to an assistant professor.
Starting salary GS-12 - $86,335 per year, plus benefits
