United States. The History Department at Colgate University seeks a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in the history of the United States, to begin in fall semester 2020. The specialization is open, but the Department would especially welcome applications from persons with teaching competence in the history of capitalism or the history of war and violence. Completion of Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. The successful candidate will teach five (5) courses, including introductory and upper-division courses in the field consistent with the candidate’s interests and departmental needs, and may be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.
