Requirements
The Department of History at Georgetown University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Teaching Professor of East Asian history for the academic year 2020-21. The teaching load is five courses, two of which will comprise an East Asian History survey over two semesters. The other three courses will be at the upper level, one of which may be a graduate seminar. This is a non-tenure-line academic appointment.
Applicants must hold a PhD in the history of East Asia (geographic area, period and specialization open), or be ABD with a firm expectation of completing the PhD before August 1, 2020. Demonstrated effectiveness in university teaching is required for the position. Proficiency in one or more East Asian language is expected.
