The Asian American & Diaspora Studies Program at Duke University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in Asian American Studies. The associate will teach in the Asian American Studies curriculum and be active in programming outreach. The selected candidate is expected to engage in original research, to teach one course per semester (an introductory survey on Asian American Studies and a course on the associate’s research area), and to participate in the intellectual and public life of the university. The associate will be mentored by senior faculty and have access to professional development and other resources on campus. Expertise in a variety of fields and disciplines will be considered including Literature, History, Visual and Media studies, Gender and Sexuality studies, Global studies, Sociology, Critical Race studies, Cultural Anthropology, and related disciplines.
Position begins August 1, 2020 and is for one academic year, with possibility for extension for the second academic year subject to budget approval and satisfactory review. Position is open to recent PhDs and early-career assistant professors. Applicants are expected to have completed their PhD no later than June 2020.
