Lecturer in Modern Gender History since 1750

This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended.
Salary: £41,526 to £49,553 per annum.
The School of History, Classics and Archaeology is seeking to appoint a specialist working on any aspect of modern gender history (post-1750). Any regional specialisation would be welcomed, with the exclusion of the British Isles. We are looking for an outstanding academic teacher with a strong, high quality publication record. The appointee will be expected to teach across the full range of History undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, contributing to teaching on pre-honours courses, offering Honours courses and postgraduate courses in modern gender history, contributing to core courses at pre-honours, Honours and PG level, and supervising postgraduate research students.
The appointee will undertake research and publish within their own field. They should demonstrate a commitment to developing cross- and inter-disciplinary collaborative projects within the School, the wider University, and with HEIs in the UK and internationally. They will be expected to submit applications to secure external research funding, individually and/or in collaboration with colleagues in relevant Research Centres (e.g. the Centre of Modern and Contemporary History). The successful candidate will contribute to the administration of the Department and the School, and provide pastoral care to students.
All newly appointed academic staff are expected to work towards a qualification in teaching in higher education.
