The Department of English at Rutgers University–Newark invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in twentieth- and twenty-first-century American literature, to begin in Fall 2020. Fluency in the critical vocabularies and methods of ethnic studies required, along with expertise in one or more of the following: settler colonialism, critical race studies, queer theory, intersectional feminism, performance studies, theater, film, or new media.
Depending on teaching and research interests, the successful candidate may be able to contribute to related programs and departments including African American and African Studies; the doctoral program in American Studies; Arts, Culture, and Media; or Women’s and Gender Studies. There may also be opportunities to teach in the Honors College and the Honors Living Learning Community.
