The Department of History at Idaho State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Latin American History at the rank of Assistant Professor. Period of specialization is open. The ability to teach courses in world or European history is desirable, especially at the general education level.
We seek candidates who demonstrate a growing record of scholarship, commitment to effective teaching, and potential for successful grant funding. This assistant professor will contribute to the existing undergraduate and graduate curricula and develop courses in their areas of specialization. Teaching duties in a 3/3 load include in-class, broadcast, and online formats. The History Department delivers degree programs in Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and online. The successful candidate will also fill service roles in the department, college, and university.
Idaho State University is a research university with over 12,000 students enrolled in programs ranging from undergraduate to doctoral. We are located in the Rocky Mountain region, close to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks.
A Ph.D. in history or related field is required at appointment in August 2020. Review of applications begins January 15, 2020.
