Rutgers University’s School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) invites applicants to teach survey courses in United States labor and employment history during the Spring 2020 semester. Courses include a survey covering topics such as the development of slavery, indentured servitude, the origins of the labor movement, nineteenth century politics and the Civil War, as well as a survey covering U.S. working class/union history from 1877-1945 covering areas such as industrial conflict, immigration, progressivism, African American workers, the New Deal and World War Two. Doctoral degree or ABD preferred. Prior teaching experience in writing-based courses or labor studies a plus.
The position is covered by the terms and conditions of Rutgers University’s AAUP-AFT Part Time Lecturer Faculty chapter’s collective bargaining agreement. Rutgers University is an AA/EEO/ADA Employer.
