Assistant Professor of Bible
The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) seeks applicants for the position of assistant professor of Bible. The candidate should be engaged with critical methodologies in the study of biblical literature and also have teaching competence in the history of Jewish biblical reception. The ideal candidate is an accomplished scholar and teacher who is committed to and supportive of the academic, religious and communal mission of JTS.
The position is a three-year, non-tenure track, renewable position, with all the rights, responsibilities, and benefits of a full-time faculty appointment, beginning July 1, 2020. Candidates must have PhD in hand by July 1, 2020. The faculty member will teach students from all five JTS schools and participate in the life of the institution.
