The Dickinson College Department of American Studies seeks a tenure-track assistant professor of Native American studies, commencing fall 2020. The department seeks engaged teacher-scholars who are committed to an innovative program of research and to teaching undergraduates. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate.
All Dickinson faculty teach five courses per year, including introductory and upper-level classes, and are eligible for funds for professional research and travel. Candidates must have a PhD in American Studies, Native American Studies, or similar discipline in hand or expected by June 2020.
Dickinson College is a highly selective four-year, independent liberal arts college with 2300 students. It is located 20 minutes west of Harrisburg and is a two-hour drive from Baltimore, Washington DC and Philadelphia.
