The Department of Comparative Human Development (CHD) at the University of Chicago invites applications for a position at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-track) or associate professor (tenured). We seek a psychological, linguistic, or cultural anthropologist or a qualitative, field-based scholar whose research focuses on issues of personhood, mind, language, or subjectivity.
CHD is an interdisciplinary department at the critical edge of thought and research in the social sciences whose faculty includes anthropologists, biologists, linguists, psychologists, sociologists, and methodologists. Faculty and students in CHD conduct interdisciplinary, holistic and comparative research and scholarship, and are committed to examining humans as simultaneously sociocultural, biological, and psychological beings who change over developmental and historical time. Candidate must have PhD in hand at start of the position.
