The Department of History at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Russian and/or Soviet history since 1905. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Western and/or World history survey courses and undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Area of research specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates able to teach courses on Imperial, Soviet, and Eastern European history. Candidates should demonstrate an active research agenda complementing the existing strengths of the department. Participation in departmental programs, service, and governance is expected. Ph.D. in History or related field is required by time of appointment. Appointment date is 15 August 2020. A complete application comprises a letter of application, a CV, an article-length writing sample, and three letters of recommendation.
