The Department of African American Studies at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, invites
applications for an open rank tenured/tenure-track position in 20th century African American history. We are particularly drawn to scholars working on the struggle for rights, especially civil rights, human rights, LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, labor rights, reproductive rights, and/or environmental rights. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester.
Qualifications
The Ph.D. is required by time of appointment.

Applications should include the following: a cover letter, CV, three references (those who continued to be considered after the initial review will then be asked to provide three letters of recommendation), a 20-25-page writing sample, and a list of potential courses, including a class on the history of the Civil Rights Movement.
