Doctorate in a discipline offered by Stony Brook University's College of Arts and Sciences from an accredited institution. A distinguished national/international reputation for sustained scholarly accomplishments, and a record of excellence in teaching, research, and service appropriate to appointment at the tenured rank of associate or full professor at a major research university.
-Native or near-native fluency in Italian.
-Experience in community outreach.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in innovative research and have strong potential for being able to participate in the teaching mission of the Department they join at undergraduate and graduate levels. Applications are encouraged from scholars with a broad knowledge of Italian American and Italian Studies in any relevant area of the humanities, fine arts, or socials services (e.g., history, linguistics, literature, sociology, art). The Endowment provides funds for salary, research, conferences, colloquia, and other scholarly activities.
This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. To be posted until position is filled. Anticipated Start Date: January 2020.
