USC Sumter is seeking Adjunct faculty in several disciplines to teach in the Richland or Lexington, SC area beginning August 2019.
Adjunct Instructor in Sociology to teach Sociology 101 (Introductory Sociology). Minimum qualifications for this position include a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Sociology and specific coursework in the field being taught.
Adjunct Instructor in History to teach a combination of HIstory 111 (United States History I) and History 112 (United States History II) or History 101 (European Civilization from Ancient Times to the Mid-17th Century) and History 102 (European Civilization from the Mid-17th Century). Candidates must have either a completed Ph.D. or be currently pursuing a Ph.D. with at least 18 graduate hours in History and specific coursework in the field being taught.
Adjunct Instructor in Political Science to teach Political Science 201 (Anerican National Governement). Minimum qualifications for this position include a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Political Science and specific cousework in the field being taught.
Adjunct Instructor in Psychology to teach Psychology 101 (Introduction to Psychology). Minimum qualifications for this position include a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Psychology and specific coursework in the field being taught.
Teaching experience in post-secondary education desired. Experience teaching the above named courses, or their equivalent is a plus. This appointment is on a course by course basis and salary is commensurate with education, experience and discipline.
