The History Department at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Middle Eastern and North African history, with the possibility of a renewal. The region and period of specialization is open, but the ability to teach classes on North Africa is preferred. The successful applicant will teach four undergraduate courses (ordinarily two preparations) a semester, including a survey of modern Middle Eastern history and upper-level classes in their specialty, and perform basic departmental service. Some support for scholarly activity will be available. The appointment will begin in August 26, 2019. Ph.D. in hand preferred.
