The History and Social Sciences Department of Bryant University invites applicants for an Open Rank tenure line position in the areas of European, non-Western, or comparative History to begin August 2019.

The History and Social Sciences Department has recently undergone an external review of our History degree program and curriculum. In keeping with the recommendations of the external review team, we seek a qualified scholar with demonstrated success at curricular development to assist the Department Chair and Dean in reshaping the program’s curriculum along thematic lines that connect to and support the University mission of educating and inspiring students to discover their passion and become innovative leaders with character around the world.
Principal Accountabilities:
The candidate must be prepared to teach upper and lower division courses in one or more of the specified areas, with additional strong expertise to develop courses in one or more thematic areas. This position requires a commitment to quality teaching, research, and service to the department, the college, and the university at large.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have a doctoral degree in European, non-Western, or comparative History and the expertise to develop courses in one or more thematic areas. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate evidence of innovative teaching and curriculum development as well as demonstrate a commitment to an ongoing research and publication agenda. Certain requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate persons with disabilities.
