The University of Alaska Fairbanks, Department of History invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in History with an anticipated start date of August 2019. The responsibilities of this position support the University of Alaska Fairbanks' tripartite mission of teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a research program focused on the history of modern Northern Europe, and teach undergraduate-level courses for the History Department and graduate-level courses in support of the interdisciplinary Arctic and Northern Studies MA Program. Areas of specialization must include modern Northern Europe. Supplementary expertise in Digital, World, or Women’s history is welcomed. Additional duties include teaching survey courses in Western Civilization, and the ability to offer face to face, hybrid, and on-line courses. Teaching responsibilities also include advising students.
