The George Washington Forum on American Ideas, Politics and Institutions at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, JMC-Thomas W. Smith Postdoctoral Fellowship in political economy. The term of the position is 2 years. The successful applicant will have a home in the History Department and receive research mentoring by the Director of The George Washington Forum.
The JMC-Thomas W. Smith Postdoctoral Fellow’s primary responsibility will be to complete a book manuscript that will be published by a reputable university press. The postdoctoral fellow will co-organize a book manuscript workshop at the end of the fellowship’s first year and, during the second year, co-organize a small conference on a subject related to his or her research in political economy. Finally, the postdoctoral fellow will co-organize a bi-weekly undergraduate reading group that will focus on the history of liberty, especially economic liberty.
