The Ohio State University at Newark invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of modern European history in a global context, with preference for someone with sub-field expertise in a non-Western field. In addition to teaching survey and upper-division courses in modern European history, the successful candidate will also teach 1-2 introductory courses each year in Middle Eastern, African, or East Asian history. Candidates with a focus on women’s, cultural, or environmental history are particularly welcome. The position will start in the autumn of 2019.
Job Appointment - 9-month tenure-track
Criteria include a Ph.D. in history at the time of appointment, strong potential for teaching and research, and teaching experience at the college or university level.
Faculty members at the Newark campus are full members of their departments at The Ohio State University and are evaluated accordingly.
