The Department of History and Political Science at Utah Valley University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Ancient History with a focus on the Mediterranean World beginning August 2019. A Ph.D. in History or Classics is required. Candidates must have experience teaching in a university setting and demonstrate commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service. The ability to teach Greek and Roman History is required.
The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 load that includes pre-1500 World History surveys, major requirements, and upper-division courses in Ancient History. Additionally, the candidate may teach in the Honors Program. The search committee expects to conduct interviews at the AHA conference in Chicago.
