The Management and Organization Studies (MOS) program at Huron University College invites applications for an Open Rank (probationary tenure-track or tenured) appointment in the area of Business Intelligence, commencing July 1, 2019. The individual will be appointed at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor commensurate with their experience.
Candidates for the position must possess a relevant business post-graduate degree(s) (PhD or DBA preferred; MA, MSc, MBA), specializing in business intelligence, big data, and behavioural insights, previous teaching experience at the university-level and a proven record of academic research. Broad management competencies, knowledge of analytical applications, and multiple years of demonstrated industry experience applying theory to management practice are important and considered key assets.
The successful candidate will demonstrate their theoretical and practical expertise in the area of business intelligence. They will be expected teach a broad array of undergraduate courses in both qualitative and quantitative disciplines, such as business intelligence, behavioural marketing, introductory marketing, and across topics including social marketing communications, big data, and related subjects. They will also be expected to contribute to innovative curriculum development and service within a large, growing part of the University. Demonstrated areas of competency across management functions, commitment to working collaboratively and inventively in the arts and social science environment, practical leadership in experiential learning, top-quality professional designations, and an international perspective will also be considered strong assets.
Management and Organizational Studies (MOS) at Huron offers a variety of courses and modules for students to pursue in the areas of accounting, finance, business administration, management, organizational studies, policy and ethics. The BMOS degree provides a stepping-stone to post-graduate professions (e.g. CPA/CFA/MBA/JD), further study and good preparation for a variety of business careers.
