The Department of History at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-accruing position in modern Russian history at the rank of assistant professor, effective August 16, 2019. Any specialty in modern Russian history is welcome. Candidates who can also contribute to departmental strengths in Latin American or Asian history are especially encouraged to apply.
The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package. Ph.D. in history is required at time of appointment.
The successful candidate will be expected to 1) maintain an active research agenda, 2) apply for external research funding, 3) teach four courses per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate level in Russian History and other areas of expertise or interest to the department, and 4) provide service to the department, the university, and the profession.
