The Department of Sociology at Francis Marion University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Anthropology position. We seek applicants who are trained in a four-field approach, with a focus on Cultural Anthropology. The successful candidate will teach a 3:4 load, including lower-division courses in sociology and anthropology and upper-division courses in their specialty. Ongoing scholarly research resulting in conference presentations and publications is required and supported. Research with an emphasis on Native Americans is preferred. Service to the department and the university, as well as academic advising to students, is required. The candidate hired will be encouraged to collaborate with other faculty members in the Sociology and History Departments, which includes our Archaeologist, to promote an interdisciplinary research agenda.
FMU Requirement: Completed Ph.D. in Anthropology by August 2019
