The English Department invites applications for a tenure-track position in film history at the assistant professor rank. We welcome applicants from a range of disciplines and are especially interested in candidates whose work positions itself in the broader and evolving field of Media Studies. Areas of specialization might include global/international/transnational cinema, early cinema, documentary, distribution/exhibition networks, disability studies, and/or race/gender/sexuality. PhD expected at the time of appointment. The normal teaching load in our department is two courses per semester. The position will involve active participation in Penn’s interdisciplinary Cinema and Media Studies Program.
