Assistant Professor of History (Sub-Saharan African History). The Department of History and Geography at Elon University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Sub-Saharan African history, beginning mid-August 2019. The primary research focus should be the colonial or post-colonial era, with regional and thematic specialization open. Successful candidates will have the ability to teach: introductory and upper-division courses in their specialization, World in the Twentieth Century, and classes in the Elon Core Curriculum. Interest in and ability to teach modern Middle East and North Africa is desirable, as is the ability to teach study-abroad classes on the continent. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in history by August 1, 2019.
