The Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of California, Riverside seeks to hire a scholar at an Open rank (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) specializing in Spanish Peninsular literature and culture, sub-field open, period open (though post-18th century is preferred). Applicants must demonstrate a strong record of publication and teaching excellence or exhibit the potential for research and teaching excellence. Research and teaching interest in film and media studies, critical theory/political philosophy, LGBTQ studies, visual arts, and innovative combinations of these fields are particularly welcome.
Junior applicants may be ABD at the time of application and must have met the requirements for the Ph.D. in a related field at time of appointment. Senior applicants must have a Ph.D. in a related field and a record consistent with tenure at a research university. The position is expected to begin July 1, 2019. Salary will be commensurate to education and experience and the position will remain open until filled.
