Centre College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of History in Modern American history to begin in the fall of 2019. Our preferred subfields include borderlands, the American West, and Indigenous history. The successful candidate will be able to teach both halves of the United States history survey (pre-1877 and 1877-present). Candidates with a Ph.D. are preferred, however A.B.D. will be considered. The program strongly encourages applications from candidates who have experience teaching and mentoring a diverse student body.
