The Department of History at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment for an assistant professor in pre-1900 United States history with a specialization in the history of capitalism and a focus anywhere from the Colonial period through the Gilded Age beginning in August 2019. A successful candidate should have a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to our department’s innovative major curriculum that asks students to think comparatively about issues of race, gender, politics, war, imperialism, and religion (http://www.holycross.edu/academics/programs/history). The candidate will also have opportunities to participate in the college’s many interdisciplinary programs.
