The Director is responsible for recruiting and evaluating faculty, developing scholarly initiatives, and overseeing the educational programs and the financial health of the unit. The successful candidate will demonstrate effectiveness as a leader, administrator, and advocate for the unit and will enhance the School’s achievements and reputation as a leading-edge site of critical and transformative social work education within the university, British Columbia, across Canada and internationally.
The position is subject to final budgetary approval. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment as Director is typically for a five-year term with the possibility for reappointment for a second term.
