The Department of History and Classics at Providence College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Modern British History beginning fall 2019. We particularly desire applications from scholars whose research and teaching place British history in an imperial, global, transnational and/or comparative context (Colonial Atlantic World excluded). Competence to teach in the Development of Western Civilization program as part of the regular teaching load is required. Experience in interdisciplinary and/or team-teaching is desirable. Ph.D. by date of appointment is required.
