COLGATE UNIVERSITY’S Department of Religion seeks candidates for a ONE-YEAR appointment (with a possibility of a second year) as Visiting Assistant Professor in HINDUISM AND ASIAN RELIGIONS to begin Fall Term 2018. Specialization is open; in addition to teaching courses about Hinduism, the ability to teach a course regarding Buddhism would be a decided plus. Training in Religious Studies and familiarity with problems and issues in the study of religion required, in order to teach an introductory course, “The World’s Religions.” Completion of the Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. The successful candidate will contribute to Colgate’s Asian Studies program and its Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. The teaching assignment is 5 courses per year.
