for the chair of "Digital Provenance"

Working field: We are looking for candidates with an international profile, who have significant research and teaching experience in the field of Digital Provenance. We are seeking a candidate to lead research toward the objective of developing new digital tools for provenance research. The candidate is welcome to apply this research in any specialized branch of provenance research related to his or her existing expertise. The candidate shall work in cooperation with the current professors at the Institute of Art History and Historical Urban Studies. The professor will teach courses for the Bachelors program “Kultur und Technik”, and the Masters program “Kunstwissenschaft”. The willingness and ability to teach in the English language is a prerequisite. The position entails the supervision of Bachelors and Masters theses as well as Ph.D. dissertations. In addition, the Professor shall take active part in duties related to academic administration.
Requirements: Successful applicants must satisfy the requirements for a professorship according to § 102a BerlHG. This includes the attainment of an advanced degree in Art History or another relevant field, and a doctorate in Art History or another relevant field. The candidate should have a proven track record of outstanding skills in scientific work; here, usually demonstrated by the completion of an excellent doctoral thesis and a strong pedagogical aptitude.
Publications in the area of Digital Humanities are desirable. Experience in acquiring and executing projects involving thirdparty funding is also desirable.
Good English language skills are desired.
