Temporary Assistant Professor – US History
The Department of History at Utah State University-Eastern invites applications for a one-year Temporary Assistant Professor in the history of the United States to begin August 1, 2018. Geographical and chronological fields are open. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching three courses per semester at our USU Eastern campus in Price, UT, and will contribute to the growth of the history major. USU-Eastern prepares students through certification, degrees, and transfer programs and seeks to provide a complete campus experience for both traditional and non-traditional students. The college has four residence halls with active social programming. In addition to its local cultural activities, the Central Utah region enjoys outstanding recreational access to the San Rafael Swell, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, plus fishing, hunting, skiing, hiking and biking opportunities. Price, Utah is located two hours southeast of Salt Lake City. To be eligible, candidates must have completed a doctoral degree in history no later than August 13, 2018. The successful applicant may expect an annual salary of $40,000 plus health benefits, office space, computer, and assistance with moving expenses. In addition, temporary faculty may apply for departmental travel funds for presentation or attendance at a professional conference during the 2018-2019 year.
