Visiting Assistant Professor of Religious Studies (South Asian)

The Department of Religious Studies at Hamilton College seeks applications for a one-year visiting position in south Asian religions, beginning July 1, 2018. Candidate should have the capacity to teach courses in Islam, Hinduism and / or Buddhism in the south Asian context and engage with the interpretive perspectives of the field of Religious Studies. Scholars whose work focuses on South India, the Indian Ocean, and/or Islam are especially encouraged to apply. Knowledge of religious networks in those areas would be welcome. Candidates with ABD will be considered, although candidates with a PhD are preferred. The teaching load is 5 courses per year.
