The Brandeis University Department of History seeks to hire a full-time Lecturer in American History for the coming academic year. While specialization is open, we seek an excellent teacher who meets departmental needs by offering a range of undergraduate courses that expand our offerings chronologically, methodologically, and geographically; there is also the possibility of teaching a graduate seminar. The successful candidate will teach five courses, engage in related service (senior thesis advising, etc.), and interact informally with graduate students.
Applications accepted only through the Brandeis University Human Resources website at https://careers.brandeis.edu/staffjobs/ (Job ID 527066). In a single document, please send a letter of application and c.v. as well as a teaching portfolio that includes brief descriptions of proposed courses and recent teaching evaluations. While no letters are required at this stage, please list the names/contact information of two scholars who could speak to achievements and potential as a teacher of history. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until position is filled.
