U.S. History. Wesleyan University’s History Department invites applications for a visiting assistant professor to teach the history of the United States in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The position will run from September 1, 2018 until May 31, 2019. Teaching responsibilities for visiting professors at Wesleyan are 3 courses in the fall and 2 in the spring and will include surveys courses in 19th and 20th century history, a more specialized lecture course on an area of the successful applicant’s special interest, as well as seminars. Teaching might include supervision of undergraduate theses.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in history or related field in hand by the time of appointment to be hired as a Visiting Assistant Professor; a successful candidate may be hired as a Visiting Instructor if the candidate does not have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment.
