GRINNELL COLLEGE. The Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies Program invites applications for a two-year Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship beginning Fall 2018. Eligible candidates must have received their terminal degree in 2015 or later. Within the field of Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies, research and teaching interests will include some combination of the following: critical race studies; ethnic and/or Chicanx studies; media studies; critical legal theory; gender and popular culture; and/or arts and cultural studies. The annual teaching load for the Fellow is two courses per year (one per semester). In the first year, the Fellow will teach GWS 324: Critical Race Feminisms and GWS 235: Feminism and Popular Culture. In the second year, the Fellow will repeat Critical Race Feminisms and teach a second course of their choosing. Possible teaching areas for that course include: Black Feminist Thought, Chicanx Feminisms, another course in the regular curriculum of the Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies program, or a course in the Fellow’s area of expertise. The Fellow also will be expected to share their research with the Grinnell community, be a contributing member of the Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies faculty, and serve on the Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies committee.
