Full/Associate Professor in the Centre for Chinese History and Culture

The Centre for Chinese History and Culture (CCHC) of the Faculty of Social Sciences invites applications for the position of Full/Associate Professor.
CCHC is affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences of UMacau. By integrating resources and expertise available from multiple departments across the campus, CCHC strives to strengthen teaching and research on Chinese history and culture, disseminate the knowledge of Chinese history and culture in Portuguese-speaking countries, bolster the influence of Chinese civilization, and improve the understanding of and identification with Chinese civilization among the residents of Macao.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD degree in Chinese history/culture or a relevant field, and should have college-level teaching experience, good publication record, strong research capacity, excellent communication and management skills, and firm commitment to the promotion of Chinese history and culture. The candidate should have the academic credential qualified to be appointed to an equivalent position in the Department of History.
The selected candidate may assume duty before or as early as August 2018.
Position and Remuneration
Remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification, current position and professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
