Responsibilities:
The preferred applicant will teach graduate and undergraduate Introduction to Public History courses, specialized graduate-level Public History courses, and courses that complement our other departmental offerings. The ability to teach undergraduate survey courses in either U.S. or World History is desired. In addition, the successful candidate will oversee our Public History practicum and establish relationships in the community as a public scholar. The successful candidate will mentor and advise Public History graduate students and be an active Public Historian. The faculty member will work with colleagues to assess and improve curricula. The faculty member will conduct research and/or creative works in respective area of specialization. Further, each faculty member is to demonstrate institutional citizenship through active engagement at the department, college, university, public, and professional communities.
Qualifications:
PhD in History by the time of appointment is required. Expertise in Digital Humanities and/or Museum Studies is an asset. Successful candidates must be committed to working effectively with diverse student populations. Applicants are expected to describe their commitment to fostering a diverse educational environment through their research, teaching, and/or service activities.
