The Department of Humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Science at MacEwan University invites applications for a Tenure-Track appointment in Indigenous History, at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2018, subject to final budgetary approval.
In addition to teaching and developing courses in their area of specialization, the successful candidate will teach surveys in at least one of Canadian, American, or European History. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the history and worldviews of Nēhiyaw, Nakota Sioux, Dene, Anishinabeg, Inuit, and Metis people. A record of community engagement, familiarity with digital humanities, and comfort in a multidisciplinary humanist environment are assets.
Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. in History and will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program. Salary: The current annual salary range for Ph.D. level Assistant Professors is $66,788 to $108,110.
