The Department of History and Geography at Morgan State University invites applicants to fill three open-rank,tenure-track positions in African Diaspora History, beginning August, 2018. Thematic research fields are open, but we are especially interested in emphases on gender history, Latin America and the Caribbean, Islam in modern Middle East and North Africa, Imperialism/nationalism/anti-colonialism, and comparative slavery. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach classes at all curricular levels and show evidence of scholarly research.
All applicants should have completed the Ph.D. in history by the time of appointment (August, 2018). Priority will be given to applicants whose documents are received by December 8, 2017. Applications will be reviewed immediately thereafter and interviews will be conducted at the AHA annual meeting in Washington, DC in January, 2018.
