The School of Theology and Religious Studies at The Catholic University of America seeks to fill a full-time tenure-track position in American Catholic Church History to begin in August 2018.
The School encourages applications from all ranks who already have or give promise of having a distinguished record of research and publications and who are interested in continuing the tradition of scholarship in the field begun at this university by Peter Guilday and John Tracy Ellis. The successful applicant will have the demonstrated knowledge and competency of a historian along with requisite familiarity with the Catholic theological tradition. The candidate must possess an earned doctorate (Ph.D., S.T.D., or equivalent). The person who fills the position will teach in undergraduate, graduate, and seminary programs in the school, advise students, direct master’s theses and doctoral dissertations, and serve on committees. Rank and salary will be determined on the basis of academic credentials and publication record.
