The Department of History at the University of North Alabama invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of the ancient Mediterranean world. Teaching responsibilities will include survey courses in world history, a survey of Ancient Greece and of Rome, advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate’s area of specialty, as well as the development of online courses. Contributions to departmental offerings in Philosophy and Religion encouraged. A Ph.D. in History or Classics (with a focus on historical study) at the time of appointment is required. The closing date of the search is 10 November 2017.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, an active research agenda, and commitment to the campus community. Candidates that have experience with online instruction or a willingness to learn about online instruction are urged to apply. The standard teaching load is four courses per semester.
