African-American History. The Department of History at Hunter College, CUNY invites applications for an Open Rank faculty member, with strong preference for Associate/Full professor (tenure track), of African-American history with an anticipated starting date on or about September 1, 2018. A PhD in history is required at the time of appointment. In addition to teaching courses in the specialty, the appointee should have a demonstrated commitment to teaching the first or second half of the U.S. history survey. Applicants with research interests related to slavery, particularly in a transnational context, are especially encouraged to apply. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
