Summary of position:
The Department of History at the University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the American Revolutionary and Early National periods. Strong preference for candidates whose teaching and research interests will connect our region to the wider world. Ability to develop a course in North Carolina history a plus. Candidates are expected to teach U.S. survey as well as upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of specialty. Research-active History faculty members teach six courses per academic year (3-3), which may include online instruction.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in History or a related field in hand at the time of appointment. Strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service is required.
